I don’t think Harris is fundamentally wrong in labelling Trump a “fascist”. He does seem to check all the boxes. But then, I’m pretty sure that most of the Americans who’ll vote next week are looking for just such a president; an autocrat who promises to fulfill their need to feel dominated by their government, and – most importantly – fuels their petty hatreds and anti-elitist biases.

If there was ever a candidate who promised more presidential directives (ie. undemocratic lawmaking), Trump wins that contest by a mile. It’s not exactly my estimate; it’s an average of what my collection of 21 pollsters are saying; and, as all polls come with a margin of error at 3-4 points, I guess that’s how far off I could be. Plus, there are still two days left to gather new poll results, and that will give me a final estimate on Monday. That said, a couple of strong polls today show a slight shift toward Harris in NV and PA, with Trump losing a little ground in GA and NC, but not enough to impact my EC projection.
